Oscar Wylee seems to have gotten their inspiration from Warby Parker, a US company that came up with the brilliant idea of providing consumers with low-cost, quality eyewear. A pair of glasses only costs $98! This is a welcome change and less cost-heavy alternative to purchasing a pair of glasses from the expensive brands that dominate the eyewear industry. I'm sure a lot of you out there know how expensive it is to purchase a pair of glasses, especially when you add in the cost of the prescription lens, which could mean a pair of glasses could well be $400+ in Australia.
Although Oscar Wylee bears remarkable similarity to Warby Parker, I am sure consumers in Australia (including me) welcome it with open arms considering Warby Parker isn't available in Australia and glasses here are so overpriced. Oscar Wylee also follows closely in line with Warby Parker in that they have implemented the 'buy one, give one' model which gives people in poverty-stricken countries access to much needed eyecare. I think this is a fantastic and innovative way of selling products while being socially conscious at the same time.

What's great about Oscar Wylee's website is that it allows you to 'try-on' virtually a pair of glasses to see whether they complement your facial structure.
Here are the glasses I tried on virtually:
Fingers crossed that one of the 5 pairs I chose fits my face! If they do, I'll do a post where I actually try the glasses on in real life.
Till next time!
